You and your spouse can apply for cover as long as you are between 18 and 70 years old. You can add children, as long as they’re younger than 70 years. You can add extended members, as long as they’re younger than 75 years old.
What is the waiting period for Absa funeral cover?
The six months start when we receive your first premium. For example, if you pay your first premium on 1 March, you can claim after 1 September. If you are not the policyholder or listed as a beneficiary on the policy, you will need a letter of authority to submit a claim.
How does Absa death benefit work?
The benefit is deposited into your Absa bank account. This will first settle any outstanding overdraft and account fees at that time. For Islamic accounts, the amount will only settle account fees. After any amounts owing have been covered, any remaining amount of the benefit will be paid to your deceased estate.
