KwaDukuza Magistrates Court is the main seat of the Ilembe district in KwaZulu-Natal. The department records Stanger as its other name, which is what the town was called before it was renamed.

Services and responsibilities

The court sits at two further places, eNyoni and Umhlali, in addition to its own building, so a matter from those areas may be heard there rather than at KwaDukuza. It handles criminal and civil cases, maintenance, domestic violence, childrens court and child justice matters, sexual offences and small claims.

Office and address information

The court is at 127 King Shaka Street, KwaDukuza, 4450, with post to Private Bag X602 at the same code. Directories and older correspondence may still use the Stanger form of the address.

Applications and escalation

As the main seat of Ilembe, KwaDukuza administers branch courts elsewhere in the district. No separate after hours domestic violence number is published.
