Bayport personal loan and consolidation loan
Bayport’s website now leads with a debt consolidation solution for government employees, offered in partnership with the employer, giving one lower monthly payment. The Bayport Consolidation Loan combines debts into a single loan with one monthly payment, a single admin fee and what Bayport calls a “preferential interest rate”. Its page has “Apply now” and “Call me back” buttons. Bayport’s site no longer has a separate personal loans page; the old personal loans address returns an error.
Bayport online loan application and requirements
- Apply online at bayport.co.za/apply-now/. The form asks for your first name, surname, South African ID number, contact number, an optional email address and your employer, chosen from a list of national and provincial government departments.
- You must consent to Bayport extracting your bureau information through a third party.
- The apply page says government employees could reduce their monthly debt repayment “by up to R5,000”.
- Bayport’s steps start with registering a free Bayport account at bayport.co.za/login-register/, then requesting a free Credit Health Report, then deciding how to solve the debt problem.
- The official site is bayport.co.za. There is no “bayportloans.co.za” address on it, so do not apply through a site with that name.
Does Bayport offer loans to blacklisted people?
Bayport does not publish any “loans for blacklisted” product or eligibility statement, and every application needs your consent for a credit bureau check. Bayport’s own blog points out that under the National Credit Act credit bureaus do not “blacklist” people; they keep credit information that lenders use to assess creditworthiness. How long does Bayport take to approve a loan?

Bayport will never ask you for an upfront fee
Bayport runs this warning as a banner across every page of its website, which tells you how common the scam is.
The rule is simple and absolute: Bayport will never ask you to pay upfront fees. Anyone who says a payment is needed to release, approve or speed up a loan is not acting for Bayport, whatever they call themselves.
Bayport adds that all payments go through formal deduction channels as set out in your contract, never in cash and never as a payment to an individual.
The independent fraud hotline needs an access code
This detail gets lost almost everywhere it is repeated, and without it the number does not work properly.
Bayport uses an independent hotline run by Navex on 0800 990 123. When you call it, at the prompt you must enter 855 862 1162. That code is what routes your report to Bayport rather than to another company on the same service.
Use the Navex line rather than Bayport’s own number when the problem is a person claiming to work for Bayport, since the point of an independent hotline is that it does not run through the staff being reported on.
What a genuine Bayport agent cannot do
Bayport sets out several things that mark a caller as fraudulent.
- An agent cannot give you a better deal than the published one
- An agent cannot guarantee that your loan will be approved
- Nobody should be asking you for more information, because as an existing customer you have already given Bayport everything needed to process an application
- Do not simply believe someone who says they work for Bayport
Bayport’s own instruction is to report an agent who asks you for money immediately, on the Navex number with the access code above.
Checking you are dealing with the real Bayport
The company is Bayport Financial Services 2010 (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2009/018403/07.
It publishes an authorised financial services provider licence number of 42380 and a registered credit provider number of NCRCP 4685. Both are checkable, and both are worth checking against anything a caller claims.
Bayport also runs a branch network with its own locator, and a separate complaints process, both reachable from bayport.co.za. A complaint about service is different from a fraud report and goes through the complaints route rather than the hotline.
