Check before you drive out

The Cableway closes in high wind and poor visibility, and it does so at short notice. Getting there

The Lower Cable Station is on Tafelberg Road above Kloof Nek, roughly ten minutes from central Cape Town. The Cableway publishes its own maps, directions and parking guidance, and runs a shuttle from the Kloof Nek parking area on busy days. If you are hiking up rather than riding, the mountain above the Cable Station falls under Table Mountain National Park, and mountain rescue is reached on the national emergency number 112 from a mobile phone.
