Master of the High Court Contact Details

Deceased estates, trusts, insolvencies and the Guardian’s Fund are handled by the Master of the High Court office where the matter was reported. The Department of Justice asks you to contact that office first; Pretoria is on 012 339 3333 and Johannesburg on 011 429 8000.

Complaints and escalation

The Department of Justice sets out the order: take the complaint to the Assistant Master handling the file, then the Deputy Master, then the Head of Office. If that does not resolve it, escalate to the Office of the Chief Master (national office, 316 Thabo Sehume Street, Pretoria, 012 406 4804).
