Online support channels have overtaken the telephone for most South African organisations, and for many queries they resolve faster and leave you a written record.

ContactDetails.co.za is an independent directory. We are not any of the companies listed here and cannot act on your behalf. Everything on this page is a routing aid so you reach the right official channel with the right information in hand.

Who actually handles this

The organisation itself, through a channel published on its own site. Online support means several different things, and they are not interchangeable: an in-app support section that already knows your account, an email address, a web form, or a chat channel.

What to do, in order

  1. Start inside your account where one exists. In-app support already knows who you are, which removes the whole verification step.
  2. Use email or a form for anything you may need to prove later. A written thread is worth more than a call you cannot evidence.
  3. Put the account or reference number in the first message. It is the single thing that prevents a wasted round trip.
  4. Keep the thread rather than starting a new one for each follow-up, so the history stays in one place.
  5. Escalate to a phone call only when something is urgent or genuinely stuck.

How to tell a genuine contact route from a planted one

A number that fails any one of those is not worth using for anything involving your money, your identity document or your account.

Common mistakes that cost time

The scam to watch for

Fake support accounts are common on social media, and they monitor complaints so they can reply first. A reply offering to help, from an account you did not contact, should be treated as fraudulent until you have checked the handle on the organisation’s own website.

If it is not resolved

The Consumer Goods and Services Ombud handles unresolved consumer complaints against participating suppliers, free of charge to the consumer. It also expects you to have gone through the supplier’s own complaints process first. The National Consumer Commission is the statutory consumer authority and handles matters that fall outside an ombud scheme’s remit.

Escalation works on evidence. Keep a short written log of every contact: the date, the channel you used, the name of the person you spoke to and the reference number you were given. Every formal complaints process asks for exactly that history, and having it ready is usually the difference between a fast resolution and starting over.

Frequently asked questions

Is online support faster than calling?

For tracking, balances and account queries it usually is, and it leaves you a record. For an urgent problem a phone call is still generally faster.

How do I know a support account is genuine?

Check the exact handle or address on the organisation’s own website. Display names and profile pictures are trivially copied.

What should I include in the first message?

The account or reference number, a one line summary, and the dates and amounts. That combination avoids most back and forth.

The contact routes on this page were checked against each organisation’s official source on 21 August 2026. Where a detail has changed, the official source is always the authority.
