FedEx is an international courier and logistics company operating in South Africa. Its South African contact routes were read from the FedEx South Africa customer support pages on 31 August 2026.
Official contact channels
FedEx South Africa publishes no customer service telephone number or email address on its own site. Every published route is online, which is unusual for a courier and is the single most useful thing to know before you go looking for a number.
- Contact form: the Write to us form on fedex.com/en-za, which routes your query to the correct department
- Existing query: the support ticket checker, using your case number or tracking number
- Escalation: the Write to the Top form, for South Africa related shipments only
- Self-service: tracking, invoice and payment views, claim filing and pickup scheduling on fedex.com
Because no official number is published, treat any FedEx South Africa call centre number you find on a directory or search result as unverified. Fake courier support numbers are a known fraud route, and a caller asking for card details to release a shipment is not FedEx.
What this organisation provides
FedEx handles international and domestic parcel and freight shipping, with tracking, rate and transit time quotes, supplies ordering, scheduled pickups, customs clearance support and account billing.
The support content splits by role – receiving versus sending – and the most common South African queries concern duties and taxes. A prepaid duty charge that appears again on delivery, and a package held at customs, are both documented topics with their own guidance.
For a customs hold, the answer is usually a missing document or an incorrect HS code rather than a courier delay. Establishing which one it is before contacting FedEx saves a round trip, because that is the first question the response will ask.
Address and operating information
FedEx does not publish a South African head office street address or support operating hours for customer contact. Physical locations for dropping off and collecting shipments are listed through the FedEx Locations finder.
Note the International Holiday Schedule published on the site. Transit times quoted at booking do not account for public holidays in transit countries, which is a frequent cause of a shipment appearing late when it is running to schedule.
Support and escalation routes
Open a case through the contact form, then track it with the case number in the support ticket checker. If the case does not progress, the Write to the Top form is the published escalation – it requires an existing case number, so it is a second step rather than a way to skip the first.
Loss and damage claims follow the separate claims process. Liability is governed by the International or Domestic Conditions of Carriage published on the site, and those limits are lower than the value of most shipments – read them before assuming full replacement value.
An unresolved consumer complaint can be taken to the National Consumer Commission. Duty and tax assessments are not a FedEx decision at all – those are set by the South African Revenue Service, and a dispute about the amount belongs with SARS.
