Walter Sisulu University is a public university in the Eastern Cape, operating across several campuses and sites. It publishes contact details per campus rather than through one national number, so knowing which campus you are dealing with matters more here than at a single-site institution. Send an application query to the mailbox for the campus you applied to, not to a general address – the campuses process their own applications, and a message to the wrong one is forwarded rather than actioned. Quote your identity number and, once issued, your student number in every message.

These are postal addresses – private bags and post boxes cannot accept courier deliveries requiring a signature, so confirm a street address with the campus before couriering documents.
WSU does not publish office operating hours on its contact page. University offices close over the December recess and are busiest during registration, so allow time and confirm before travelling between campuses – the sites are spread across the Eastern Cape and are not within easy reach of one another.
Escalation routes
Raise the matter with the campus concerned first, then with the faculty or the relevant administrative department, keeping a written record and a reference for each contact. With a multi-campus institution, always state which campus and site your matter relates to – it is the first thing you will be asked.
Public universities fall under the Department of Higher Education and Training, with qualifications accredited by the Council on Higher Education. Funding and allowance delays are usually a NSFAS matter rather than a university one, since the funder controls disbursement. Establish which body is actually holding up a payment before escalating against the university.
