Maintenance sits alongside criminal and civil cases, domestic violence, childrens court and child justice work at the same office. A maintenance matter is opened at the court counter rather than by telephone, and the court also sits at Ga-Matlala.

Applications and escalation
A maintenance application needs identity documents, proof of income and expenses, and the childs birth certificate, and the other party must be traceable for service. If an existing order needs enforcing rather than a new one applied for, say so when you arrive, because that is a different process handled by the same office.
