Kaizer Chiefs runs its academy as the club Youth Development programme, and it publishes a dedicated mailbox for development enquiries that is separate from the general club address. At the time of writing the club Youth Development page shows applications as closed.

What this organisation provides

The Youth Development structure runs junior and under-age teams that compete in the Gauteng Development League, alongside the club Reserve Team, and it publishes player profiles and fixtures on its Youth Development pages. Players progress from the junior sides through the reserve team, and the club also fields a senior team and a ladies team, which are separate structures from the academy.

Address and operating information

The head office is at 5/6 Lena Road, Lenaron, Naturena, Johannesburg. Use the development mailbox rather than the general club number for anything about trials, applications or a player already in the structure, because the head office switchboard covers the whole club. The club also publishes a fax number alongside its telephone number, so check you are dialling the telephone line.

Support and escalation routes

The Youth Development page carries an application status, and it currently reads as closed, so an unsolicited application is unlikely to be processed while that is the case. Check that page before sending documents, and treat anyone who offers to arrange a trial or a place at the academy in exchange for payment as fraudulent: the club advertises its own application periods and does not charge for access to them. Send enquiries to the published development mailbox and keep a copy of what you send.
