RSG is the SABC Afrikaans radio station, broadcasting nationally on FM and streaming at rsg.co.za. Its potgooi archive, the podcast section, is where programmes are republished after broadcast, and it has a search box for finding an episode by programme name or date. The station publishes separate routes for on-air participation, for a broadcasting complaint and for a reception fault, and they are not interchangeable.
RSG contact details
- Email: [email protected]
- WhatsApp: 076 536 6961
- SMS: 45889, charged at R1.50 per SMS
- Broadcast compliance and complaints: 011 714 2244
- Postal address: Die Bestuurder Uitsaainakoming, Privaatsak X1, Aucklandpark, 2006
The complaints number and the postal address are for the SABC broadcast compliance manager. RSG lists that post by title rather than by a general station switchboard, so quote the programme, the date and the time when you write.
Reception and transmission faults
A hiss, a dropout or a station that has vanished from a frequency is a transmitter problem, not a studio one, and RSG points those at Sentech, which runs the transmission network.
- Sentech transmission faults: 0860 736 832
- Sentech WhatsApp: 060 062 5458
Before reporting a fault, check the same frequency on another radio and check the stream at rsg.co.za. If the stream works and the FM signal does not, it is a transmitter or an aerial issue; if neither works, it is more likely your device or your connection.
Finding a programme in the potgooi archive
- Use the potgooi search on rsg.co.za and search by programme name rather than by presenter, which is how episodes are filed
- Episodes are posted after broadcast, so a programme that aired this morning may only appear later in the day
- Older episodes are removed over time, so download an episode you want to keep rather than relying on it staying up
- If an episode is missing rather than merely old, that is an [email protected] query
Complaints and escalation
- Programme feedback and general queries go to [email protected], WhatsApp 076 536 6961 or SMS 45889
- A formal broadcasting complaint goes to the SABC broadcast compliance office on 011 714 2244 or by post to Privaatsak X1, Aucklandpark, 2006
- If the SABC does not resolve it, the Broadcasting Complaints Commission of South Africa and ICASA handle complaints about broadcast content and licensing
RSG lists an individual staff mailbox for the compliance manager; the phone number and the postal address above reach the same office without going to a named person.
