Sedgars Sport supplies sporting equipment, team kit, promotional items and safety gear to clubs, schools and organisations across southern Africa. Both branches keep the same hours. The Gauteng mailbox is the general one for the business, so use the Western Cape address only if the order is being fulfilled from Cape Town.
Ordering team kit
Kit is where these orders go wrong, so settle the detail in writing before you pay a deposit. Confirm the lead time for a customised order rather than a stock one, since printing and embroidery add weeks and school and league seasons do not move. Get the sizing chart and order a fit sample before committing to a full squad run: replacement of the wrong size on a printed garment is rarely free. Ask whether numbers, names and sponsor logos are included in the quoted price or added per item, and check who owns the artwork if they set up your logo.
Sports equipment and safety gear
- Equipment is supplied by sporting code, so say which code and level you are buying for
- Safety and protective equipment is a separate range from the sports side, and compliance specifications matter more than price
- Bulk school and club orders are quoted rather than sold at shelf price, so ask for a written quotation with the delivery date on it
If an order goes wrong
- Contact the branch that took the order, on 016 455 5685 for Gauteng or 010 443 3985 for the Western Cape, and quote the order number
- Keep the written quotation and the proof of the approved artwork; those are what settle a customisation dispute
- For an unresolved consumer complaint, the National Consumer Commission handles complaints against suppliers
