The context you should know before applying
Tongaat Hulett has been in business rescue, and its own website carries a dedicated Business Rescue section alongside a published PwC forensic report. That does not make the company uncontactable, and the operations continue to run and to hire, but it does mean two things practically: hiring is not steady, and anyone claiming to guarantee you a position there is worth double-checking.

Recruitment fraud uses this name
A large agricultural employer in a high-unemployment region is a standing target. Nobody at Tongaat Hulett charges an application fee, a medical fee, a transport fee or a deposit for equipment or protective clothing. A genuine offer follows an interview, is in writing, and comes from a corporate address rather than a free webmail account. If money is requested, it is fraud.

Payslips, provident fund queries, certificates of service and UIF documents go through the HR office at your own mill or estate, using the number for that site above, rather than through the corporate switchboard.
