Zwelitsha is where the Eastern Cape Department of Education sits: the Steve Vukile Tshwete Education Complex, off the Bhisho road in Zone 6. The complex is the address you drive to. It is not the address you post to. Read from ecdoe.gov.za on 7 September 2026.

Friday closes early
Monday to Thursday the doors are open 08:00 to 16:30. Friday is shorter at both ends, 08:30 to 16:00, which is a full hour of the working day gone. Anyone driving in from Mthatha or Gqeberha for a Friday afternoon errand should leave earlier than the weekday timetable suggests.
At the gate
- A valid identity document is checked before you are cleared onto the site. No document, no entry, and there is no way around that at the boom.
- Visitors park through the main entrance gate, which is not the staff gate.
- Once inside there is a cafeteria, seated waiting areas, wheelchair access and self-service information kiosks.
The kiosks matter more than they sound. A queue at the complex is measured in hours rather than minutes on a busy day, and a kiosk will answer a straightforward status question without one.
