Admissions and student support
Applications for 2027 admission opened on 01 June 2026. Undergraduate and advanced diploma applications close on 30 November 2026. Honours, postgraduate diploma, master’s and doctoral applications close on 30 January 2027.
The non-refundable application fee is R200 for South African applicants, R400 for SADC applicants and R550 for international applicants from outside SADC. Use your ID number or student number as the payment reference. You can choose a maximum of two programmes and apply for residence in the same application.
How to apply online
- Prepare certified copies of your ID and your (National) Senior Certificate, and proof of payment of the application fee, as pdf, doc or jpg files.
- Open the iEnabler application link on UMP’s Online Applications page, capture your biographical details and create a 5-digit PIN. Note the student number shown.
- Accept the POPI Act notice and the application rules, then complete your address, contact, disability, matric subject and previous study details.
- Upload your supporting documents and add up to two academic applications, plus a residence application if you need one, until the progress bar shows 100%.
- Send any application or registration queries to studentapplications@ump.ac.za.
Once you are enrolled, UMP’s Student Life division covers student governance, counselling, a campus clinic, sports and recreation, and student housing, both on campus and in accredited private accommodation.

UMP’s own documents give two different postal box numbers for the Mbombela Campus, so phone 013 002 0001 to confirm the right one before you post anything there.
