The FICA contact number is +27 12 641 6000, the head office and compliance queries line of the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC), which also takes compliance queries through an online form. FICA is the Financial Intelligence Centre Act, 2001 (Act 38 of 2001), and the FIC is the body that administers it: South Africa’s financial intelligence unit, established in 2002.
If you need to update your “FICA documents” with your bank, contact your bank directly. Each bank handles its own clients’ FICA verification; the FIC does not.

Official FIC contact channels
The FIC’s head office number, +27 12 641 6000, is also the number it gives for compliance queries. You can submit a written compliance query through the form at fic.gov.za/compliance-queries-2/. Other general scams and related incidents can be reported by email to scams@fic.gov.za.
The fraud hotline, 0800 701 701, is only for reporting improper conduct involving the FIC’s own employees. The FIC has stopped using fax, and it says calls, emails and other communication with it may be recorded or monitored.
Services and responsibilities
The FIC was established in 2002 under the Financial Intelligence Centre Act, 2001 (Act 38 of 2001). It is the only entity authorised to receive transaction data from financial and non-financial institutions. Institutions that are covered by FICA register and file reports with the FIC through its goAML portal at goweb.fic.gov.za.

Applications and escalation
- To register as an institution or file a report, use the goAML portal at goweb.fic.gov.za.
- For registration or reporting questions, open the compliance query form. All fields are required, including your ORG ID, institution name and institution type (for example estate agent, credit provider, motor vehicle dealer, crypto asset service provider, or private individual).
