The contact form asks for your name, phone, email, province and location, the enquiry type (request a quote, product or service, compliment, complaint, become a franchisee or general) and the product or service, from windscreen chip repair and windscreen replacement to side or rear glass, window tinting, anti smash and grab, motor accessories, SmartGlass, aluminium frames, custom cut glass and mirrors, and home assessments. It has an “I require immediate assistance” option, and Glasfit says it will contact you after hours if you select it. Glasfit guarantees
- Motor glass fitment: a 2-year workmanship guarantee at all Glasfit fitment centres nationwide, covering leaks, whistling and wind noises, unless the glass has since been tampered with. Your original invoice serves as the guarantee, so keep it.
- Windscreen product warranty: Glasfit says Shatterprufe offers a lifetime warranty on bubbling and delamination and a 3-year quality guarantee against manufacturing defects on its windscreens; original equipment glass from a dealer carries that dealer’s guarantee. Warranties apply only to the vehicle owner and do not transfer when the vehicle is sold.
- Automotive safety film: a 5-year warranty from the date of application by the fitment centre that applied it; proof of purchase is required.
- Residential and commercial glass: a 12-month workmanship guarantee on building glass fitment. Ask for the completed guarantee, because the reference number and the signed guarantee are needed to claim.
- SmartGlass: a 10-year warranty when the SmartGlass product is installed by Glasfit.
Insurance claims and complaints
Glasfit’s Insurers page says it has partnered with many South African short-term insurers, brokers and underwriters to make claiming for glass repairs or replacements simpler, and describes itself as an accredited supplier using SABS-certified products. For a problem with a fitment, go back to the branch that did the work with your original invoice, which Glasfit says serves as the guarantee.
