Hyundai Automotive South Africa publishes a single national customer care number. Dealership matters are handled by the individual dealer rather than by the national office, which is the distinction that determines who can actually help.

Official contact channels

Hyundai does not publish a separate roadside assistance number, a parts line or an email address for customer care on its contact page. The national number and the dealer network are the published routes.

What this organisation provides

A single national number with no published email is a small contact set for a vehicle brand, so expect the dealer network to be the working route for most matters and the national line to be for escalation and warranty questions.

Hyundai Automotive South Africa is the national distributor for the Hyundai brand. It supports the dealer network, warranty administration and parts supply, while sales, servicing and repairs happen at independently operated dealerships.

That structure matters when something goes wrong. A dispute about a service, a repair invoice or a vehicle sale is in the first instance a matter for the dealer that carried out the work, because the national office does not run the workshop. It can, however, escalate a matter the dealer has failed to resolve, which is the main reason to call it.

Warranty is the exception. Warranty terms are set by the distributor rather than by the dealer, so a question about what is covered and for how long is a national question even though the work is done locally.

Address and operating information

Hyundai does not publish customer care operating hours or a head office walk-in address on its contact page. Dealership trading hours vary and are listed through the dealer locator.

For a vehicle bought new, the servicing history held by the dealer network is what supports a warranty claim, so keeping the service book stamped and the invoices filed is worth more than any phone call later.

Support and escalation routes

Hyundai Automotive South Africa also administers recalls and service campaigns through the dealer network, identified by VIN. If you have received a recall notice, the dealer performs the work and the national office holds the campaign record.

Have the vehicle registration, the VIN and the dealership name and date of the work ready. For a warranty question, have the date of first registration, since warranty periods run from that date rather than from purchase.

Raise the matter with the dealer principal first and get it in writing. If it is unresolved, escalate to Hyundai customer care with the dealer’s response and a reference.

If a dispute remains unresolved, the Motor Industry Ombudsman of South Africa handles complaints between consumers and the motor industry, including dealerships and distributors, and the National Consumer Commission is the statutory consumer body.
