What this organisation provides
Lime24 is an online short-term lender run by Lime Loans South Africa (Pty) Ltd, part of the Lime Credit Group. Its homepage offers loans from R500 to R8 000 with repayment terms of up to 90 days; a dashboard message elsewhere on the site mentions loans from R300, so the amount you are offered may differ. Applications are made entirely online.
The published cost of a loan, which Lime24 says follows Chapter 5 of the National Credit Act regulations, is:
- interest of 0.16% a day for new clients and 0.1% a day for returning clients;
- an initiation fee of 16.5% of the first R1 000 plus 10% of the amount above R1 000, capped at 15% of the loan, plus VAT;
- a service fee of R69 a month.
To apply you need a cellphone number, an email address, bank account and employment details, and your latest three months of bank statements showing your three most recent salary deposits. Statements can be fetched through TruID or Gathr, which connect to your bank with your consent, or sent by email or WhatsApp. You then sign the pre-agreement and loan agreement with an SMS code and approve a DebiCheck debit order with your bank, which Lime24 says must be done within two minutes of the request.
Address and operating information
Lime24 gives its address as C505, Bridgewater 3, Century City, Cape Town, 7441. The National Credit Regulator’s register lists Lime Loans South Africa (Pty) Ltd as a registered credit provider, registration number NCRCP8077, company number 2015/239349/07, with the same phone number and a physical address of 505, 5th Floor, Bridgewater 3, 4 Conference Lane, Century City, Cape Town. Its final registration date is shown as 6/9/2016.
Payouts run in cycles. A loan approved before 2pm on a weekday is paid in that day’s 2pm cycle and should reflect within 12 hours; later approvals move to the next day’s 2pm cycle. Loans approved after 2pm on a Friday and before 7am on Saturday go out in the Saturday 7am cycle.
Support and escalation routes
Repayments are collected by debit order on the due date. To settle early, log in, download a settlement quotation (valid for seven days) and pay it from your banking app to the Lime Loans South Africa (Pty) Ltd account details shown in your dashboard, then email proof to collections@lime24.co.za. Lime24 says a payment is receipted once it reaches its account, usually within 24 to 48 hours, and that it does not charge for early repayment. Late payment adds arrears interest, fees and collection costs, and is reported to credit bureaus; Lime24 asks borrowers who cannot pay on time to contact it to negotiate a repayment plan.
- Raise the problem with Lime24 on 010 442 6722 or support@lime24.co.za, quoting your ID number, and keep a copy of what you send.
- If it is not resolved, complain to the National Credit Regulator, which investigates complaints against registered credit providers: 0860 627 627 or complaints@ncr.org.za.
- Lime Loans South Africa did not appear on the National Financial Ombud Scheme’s list of credit participants on 16 September 2026. The NFO (0860 800 900, info@nfosa.co.za) says you can ask it to confirm whether a lender falls under its jurisdiction.
