To report fraud to Mukuru, email fraud@mukuru.com or call 0860 018 555. Mukuru has three offices in Bloemfontein. General support is support@mukuru.com, and the same 0860 018 555 works for calls and WhatsApp. We read this on mukuru.com on 24 September 2026.

Fraud has its own mailbox

This is the part worth acting on quickly.

Mukuru runs a separate address for fraud, fraud@mukuru.com, distinct from general support. Its instruction is that if you are a victim of fraud you should immediately contact Mukuru to report the matter, by that email or on 0860 018 555.

There is also a reporting form on Mukuru’s fraud prevention page which asks for the transaction date and any ticket, order or reference number. Have those ready, because they are what lets Mukuru find the transaction.

Do not send a fraud report to support@mukuru.com and wait. Use the fraud address.

Once you pay, it is gone

Mukuru states this plainly, and it is the single most important thing to understand before sending money.

In Mukuru’s own words, its service is in real time, and once you pay, it is gone. A remittance is not a card payment that can be reversed, so the moment to be careful is before you send, not after.

Mukuru’s other standing advice is to know who you are dealing with and do your research before sending money, never to send money to unknown people or people whose identity is unclear, and to remember that if something is rushed and sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

What Mukuru says never to do

  • Do not fall for freebies such as sim cards, airtime, data, loyalty points or vouchers that are activated by handing your phone to a “promo agent”
  • Do not fall for an offer that catches you off guard, or a prize linked to a competition you never entered
  • Do not join a social media group that asks you to send money upfront to receive goods, services or more money
  • Do not automatically click links or attachments arriving by email, text or social media
  • Do not use your account to help someone else send funds. Mukuru’s advice is to tell them to open their own
  • Do not share devices or confidential information, including your full name, address, contact details, identity number, card number or card expiry date

Mukuru also suggests pressing the cancel button before inserting your card at an ATM, which clears anything a previous user or a tampered machine has left on screen.

Mukuru offices in Bloemfontein

OfficeAddressHours
Bloemfontein48 Arcade Walk, corner Elizabeth and West Burger Street, 9300Not published
Bloemfontein Tourist Centre60 Park Road, Willows, 9300Not published
Bloemfontein Taxi Rank7 Power Street, Bloemfontein Central, 9301Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:00, closed weekends

All three carry the same national number, 0860 018 555, and the same support@mukuru.com address. None has a direct line of its own.

Only the Taxi Rank branch publishes its hours, and it is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. That is a real gap, because Mukuru’s phone support runs on Saturday until 19:00 and on Sunday morning. If you need a counter at the weekend, phone first on 0860 018 555 to ask which Bloemfontein office is open.

Mukuru’s network is not all the same thing either. Its locator distinguishes branches, booths, lite branches, info centres, customer service offices and partner locations, and a booth inside another business will not offer everything a branch does.

Checking you have the real Mukuru

The company is Mukuru Financial Services (Pty) Ltd, an authorised financial services provider under FSP 45517 and a registered credit provider under NCRCP9244. Its funeral cover is underwritten by Guardrisk Life Limited, FSP 76.

Given how much money moves through the brand, impersonation is common. Anything claiming to be Mukuru that reaches you on a personal mobile number, or that asks you to pay into an individual’s account rather than through the Mukuru service, should be checked on 0860 018 555 before you act.
