Yoco Card Machine Contact Details
A chargeback can be taken back out of your account weeks after a sale. If a customer disputes a card payment and the bank finds for them, the money is reversed from the merchant, not from the card scheme. Small traders discover this the first time it happens.

What to establish before signing up
Compare the total cost of accepting a payment, not the headline rate.
- The percentage per transaction, and whether it differs for credit, debit and international cards.
- How long settlement takes, since cash flow depends on it more than on the fee.
- Whether the device is bought, rented or tied to a contract, and what happens if you stop trading.
- How disputes and chargebacks are handled, and what evidence you must keep.
Protecting yourself
Keep signed slips and delivery proof, since a chargeback is decided on documents. Be cautious with unusually large card-not-present orders, and with a customer who wants goods released before funds reflect.
Never let a card leave the customer’s sight, and never take a photograph of card details. Keep business and personal accounts separate, and remember SARS requires records for five years. Verified 26 August 2026.
