Lewis Stores is Southern Africa’s largest furniture retail brand, selling household furniture, electrical appliances and home electronics, largely on credit. The contact details below were read from the Lewis Stores website on 1 September 2026.
Official contact channels
- Customer service (toll-free): 0800 228 444
- Insurance call centre (toll-free): 0800 000 598
- Email: [email protected]
- Online: the customer support form on lewisstores.co.za
Both numbers are genuinely toll-free. Note the support email sits on the lewisgroup.co.za domain rather than lewisstores.co.za – that is correct, because Lewis Group is the listed parent company.
The site’s Contact page is a form only. The telephone numbers are published on the separate customer care page, which is why they are easy to miss.
What this organisation provides
Lewis sells furniture, bedding, appliances and audio-visual goods through stores across Southern Africa, together with the Milestone Rewards programme and insurance products sold alongside credit purchases.
Insurance is a separate line with its own call centre. Lewis sells Monarch policies with credit agreements, and existing Monarch policyholders must claim or complain through 0800 000 598 – the general customer service number cannot process a claim.
Because most Lewis purchases are credit agreements, know which you are querying. A delivery or product fault is a retail matter; an instalment, balance, settlement or insurance premium is a credit and insurance matter, and the two are handled by different teams under different law.
Address and operating information
Lewis Stores does not publish a head office street address or call centre operating hours on its website. Store addresses and trading hours are listed per branch through the store locator.
Insurance brochures are available at any Lewis store as well as through the insurance call centre, which is useful when you want the policy terms in writing before committing.
Support and escalation routes
Start at the store for a delivery or product fault with your invoice, then call 0800 228 444 or email [email protected]. Lewis states that queries and complaints go to that same call centre, so use it as the formal channel and keep the reference.
Account changes – a change of address, or a cancellation – are handled through the customer support form, which routes them to the accounts team.
Escalate by type. A defective product complaint goes to the National Consumer Commission. A credit agreement dispute goes to the National Credit Regulator or the Credit Ombud. An insurance claim rejection goes to the National Financial Ombud Scheme, which handles short-term insurance disputes at no cost to the consumer.
