Tronox Contact Details

Tronox runs its mineral sands business in South Africa from five sites. The Centurion office is 010 100 8560, KZN Sands at Empangeni is 035 902 7000, and Namakwa Sands Northern Operations is 027 217 3911. None of these numbers appears on Tronox’s contact page; they are published on its Global Locations page. We read this on tronox.com on 24 September 2026.

The contact page has no numbers on it

If you went to tronox.com and clicked Contact Us, you found four web forms and no telephone number at all. The forms cover safety data sheets, new customer enquiries, existing customer enquiries and general enquiries.

Every South African number is instead on the Global Locations page under About Us, filed by site. That is not where most people look for a contact number.

So if you need to speak to a person at a specific operation rather than submit a form, use the numbers above.

Which site to call

Tronox’s South African operations split into two mineral sands complexes, and they are nearly 1 500 kilometres apart.

KZN Sands, on the KwaZulu-Natal coast, is two linked sites. The Fairbreeze mine produces ilmenite, zircon, rutile and other co-products, and its heavy minerals concentrate is trucked to the Central Processing Complex at Empangeni, where arc furnaces turn it into titanium dioxide slag and pig iron. Tronox gives Fairbreeze as 419 hectares, delivering its first ore in late 2015.

Namakwa Sands, on the west coast, also splits in two. An open-pit mine and concentration plants at Brand-se-Baai, about 385 kilometres north of Cape Town, feed the Northern Operations. The separated ilmenite, rutile and zircon then travel 270 kilometres by rail to the smelter near Saldanha Bay, about 150 kilometres north of Cape Town.

For a mining or community matter, call the operation itself. For a corporate, commercial or media question, the Centurion office is the head office number.

Two sites publish only a PO Box

Worth knowing before you plan a visit. Both Namakwa Sands entries give a postal address only: PO Box 223, Lutzville for Northern Operations and PO Box 435, Vredenburg for the smelter.

Neither has a street address on Tronox’s site, so there is no published physical address to navigate to. The KwaZulu-Natal sites do give road addresses, at Melmoth Road R34 and off the N2.

These are working mines and smelters in any case. Access is controlled and you cannot arrive unannounced. Phone first and arrange it.

Documents Tronox publishes

Useful if you live near one of these operations, or are researching them. Each South African site on the Global Locations page carries downloadable documents alongside its address.

• Environmental audit reports, including a Fairbreeze environmental audit and 2024 audits for Fairbreeze and Hillendale.
• ISO certificates, including ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 for KZN Sands and ISO 14001 for Namakwa Sands.
• A South Africa site fact sheet for each operation, and the Tronox South Africa PAIA and POPIA manual.

The PAIA manual is the one to read if you want information the company has not published, since it sets out how to request it formally.

Product and safety enquiries

Safety data sheets for titanium dioxide products are on the Products pages, selected per product. For any other safety data sheet enquiry, Tronox gives ChemProdSteward@tronox.com.

That is the only email address published on the contact page. Customer enquiries, new and existing, run through the forms instead.

Before you call

Know which operation your question concerns. Tronox lists the Centurion office and the four operating sites separately, and the switchboard at one cannot answer for another.

For a supplier or procurement matter, note that Tronox runs supplier onboarding through a Become a Supplier process and a supplier portal rather than by telephone.

For a product enquiry, have the product name and the region, which is what the customer forms ask for.

Tronox publishes no operating hours for its South African sites, so treat these as weekday business-hours numbers even though the plants themselves run continuously.
