WBHO runs regional offices rather than a single contact point, and each has its own number, fax, postal address and mailbox. Pick the region the project is in, not the one nearest you.

WBHO regional offices

Two divisional mailboxes are published alongside those: [email protected] and [email protected]. Building and civil engineering are run as separate divisions at WBHO, so naming the discipline in your first line saves a transfer.

Plant and services

Plant and services is the division that owns and hires out the equipment. If your query is about machinery, a plant hire arrangement or a delivery to site, it belongs here rather than at a regional office.

Tenders and subcontracting

WBHO publishes a dedicated tender enquiries page separate from its general contact page, and that is the route for a subcontractor or supplier approach. Send a short capability statement with your company registration, tax clearance, B-BBEE certificate and relevant CIDB grading rather than a general enquiry, because a main contractor screens on those before anything else.

If you are pricing work on a specific project, name the project and the region in the subject line. A large contractor runs many sites at once and a general enquiry that does not identify one gets filed rather than actioned.

Getting paid as a subcontractor

Construction payment disputes are common and the law gives you routes. Keep the signed subcontract, every variation order in writing and every payment certificate. Verbal instructions to vary work are the single biggest cause of unpaid claims: get them confirmed by email the same day, even if only as a note of what was agreed on site.

Working for WBHO

Apply through the WBHO site rather than an agent. Nobody at a listed construction company charges for an application, a site induction, a medical or safety equipment. Those are the employer cost, and a request for payment is fraud.
