The three head office numbers are published without names attached, as the contact numbers for the office itself. The fraud line is a separate route and should only be used to report fraud, not for general enquiries about learnerships or accreditation.

Provincial offices and why we do not list them

CETA lists a provincial office for each province, but the contact given is a named person and a personal mobile number. We do not republish those. A named individual moves on, and the number then reaches somebody who no longer holds the role, or nobody at all.

CETA lists offices for the Eastern Cape, Free State, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, North West at both Mahikeng and Klerksdorp, the Northern Cape and the Western Cape. CETA covers construction, not every trade

Each SETA covers a defined sector, and calling the wrong one is the most common reason an enquiry goes nowhere. CETA covers the construction sector. Electrical, engineering, manufacturing, transport and services trades each fall to a different SETA with its own accreditation and its own grant process.

If you are unsure which SETA holds your qualification, check the mandate page before you call. CETA cannot verify or reissue a certificate awarded under another authority.

Complaints and escalation

Avoiding fake CETA contact numbers

Learnership scams use SETA names heavily, and CETA’s name appears in them often. CETA does not charge learners to be placed on a learnership, and a genuine learnership is funded rather than paid for.

• Never pay a fee to be placed on a CETA learnership or to have a certificate issued.
