Admissions and student support

SPU does not run a central admissions line – applications are handled by the faculty. Sending an application query to the switchboard adds a hop; go straight to the faculty you are applying to:

Those four faculties are the whole university, so the list above covers every programme SPU offers.

Funding and tuition are handled by named officers on direct lines rather than a shared mailbox. SPU publishes four funding lines – 053 491 0102, 053 491 0366, 053 491 0105 and 053 491 0473 – and two lines for tuition quotations, 053 491 0156 and 053 491 0215. The officers’ names and individual email addresses are on SPU’s own contact page; we list the lines rather than reproduce personal mailboxes here.

Because these are individual desks, a call can go unanswered when that person is out. Try the next line on the list before assuming the number is wrong.

Campus and address information

All three are in Kimberley, and Central and South are both in New Park – a few minutes apart but not the same address. Confirm which campus a meeting or registration session is on before you set out.

Escalation routes

Take an unresolved application or funding matter to the faculty first, then to the registrar through the switchboard, keeping your student or application number and the dates you called.

Beyond the university, a complaint about a public higher education institution can go to the Department of Higher Education and Training, and maladministration by a public body to the Public Protector. NSFAS decisions are appealed to NSFAS itself, not to SPU – the university administers the payment, it does not make the funding decision.
