UCT splits admissions between one central mailbox and a mailbox per faculty, and it asks explicitly that you do not send the same query to more than one of them. Its own words: misdirecting queries may cause delayed responses.

The enquiry form, and which category to pick
UCT runs a single enquiry form on its Enquiries page with a query-type selector, and choosing correctly is what routes it. The categories are orientation, UCT Online High School, admissions and applications, academic and student records and transcripts, careers, fees, IT queries, student housing, Vula and Amathuba queries, PeopleSoft queries, website issues, GetSmarter courses, and general queries. Picking “general” for an admissions question sends it to the slowest queue.
Before you apply
- Check the key dates page. UCT publishes application closing dates separately from the application procedure, and they differ by programme.
- Check eligibility and admission requirements before applying rather than after; UCT publishes them per qualification.
- Fees and funding are a separate department from admissions and will not be answered on the admissions mailbox.
