Dr Dennis Agbazue is a specialist orthopaedic surgeon and interventional pain specialist based in Vereeniging, Gauteng. He consults from three separate locations, each with its own telephone number, but bookings for all of them go through a single line.
Official contact channels
- Bookings for all rooms: 016 004 0003
- Practice bookings email: agbazue@1010.co.za
- Mediclinic Vereeniging rooms: 016 440 5751
- Clinix Naledi-Nkanyezi rooms, Sebokeng: 016 420 3082
- Netcare Garden City Hospital sessional rooms, Mayfair West: 011 495 5271
Use the bookings line first. The practice publishes 016 004 0003 as the route for appointments at any of the three sites, so it saves working out which hospital he is at on a given day.
The three site numbers are useful for a different purpose. If you are already booked and need to reach the rooms on the day, running late or checking whether he is delayed in theatre, call the number for the site you are attending rather than the central bookings line.
What this organisation provides
- Specialist orthopaedic surgery, covering bones, joints and musculoskeletal conditions
- Interventional pain management, which the practice lists as a particular interest
- Consultations across private hospital groups: Mediclinic, Clinix and Netcare
- A multi-disciplinary team supports the practice alongside the surgeon
Dr Agbazue qualified with an MBBS from the University of Nigeria in 1991, received Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates certification in the United States in 1997, was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Glasgow in 1998, completed a Diploma in Primary Emergency Care in 1999, and became a Fellow of the College of Orthopaedic Surgeons in 2004.
As a specialist practice, most medical schemes require a referral from a general practitioner before they will fund the consultation. Confirm that with your scheme before booking rather than afterwards.
Address and operating information
- Mediclinic Vereeniging: Room 101, Block 1, corner Hofmeyer Avenue and Joubert Street, Vereeniging, 1930
- Clinix Naledi-Nkanyezi: Suite 18, 2 Moshoeshoe Street, Sebokeng, 1930
- Netcare Garden City Hospital: sessional rooms, 35 Bartlett Road, Mayfair West, 2092
- The practice does not publish consulting hours for the individual sites
Note that the Mayfair West rooms are described as sessional, meaning he consults there only on certain days rather than continuously. That is the site most worth confirming before you travel, particularly if you are coming from the Vaal.
Support and escalation routes
- Appointment, account or referral queries: the bookings line on 016 004 0003 or the practice email
- Complaints about clinical care or professional conduct: the Health Professions Council of South Africa, which registers and regulates medical practitioners
- Complaints about the hospital rather than the surgeon: raise with that hospital group, since Mediclinic, Clinix and Netcare each run their own complaints process
- Disputes about what your medical scheme paid: your scheme first, then the Council for Medical Schemes
Separating the surgeon from the venue matters here. A problem with nursing care, admission or hospital billing belongs to the hospital group, while a clinical complaint about the surgeon belongs with the practice and, if unresolved, the professions council.
