The only general email address Anglo American publishes is the corporate affairs mailbox, and its own pages use it for report requests and for scam reports. What this organisation provides
Anglo American was founded in South Africa in 1917. Its South African site describes the group as a global mining company now focused on copper, premium iron ore and crop nutrients. In South Africa it lists two businesses: diamonds, through De Beers Consolidated Mines, and iron ore, through Kumba Iron Ore Limited. The group says it has demerged its platinum business, and its group website carries information about the planned merger of Anglo American and Teck Resources to form Anglo Teck.

Anglo American warns that fraudsters pretend to be the company through fake websites, YouTube investment videos and WhatsApp channels promising guaranteed returns. The warning signs it lists:

- Anyone claiming to be the “sole BEE strategic partner” who charges a fee to get you onto the supplier list is running a known fronting scam.
- A website missing from the “Our websites” list on angloamerican.com is not an official Anglo American site.

- If you have lost money, report it to your local police station, as Anglo American advises, and tell your bank the same day.
- To report misconduct by an Anglo American employee, read the group’s whistleblowing policy and make an anonymous report to the external company that receives and investigates those reports.
Genuine suppliers register themselves on Anglo American’s procurement solutions portal and join the prospective supplier database.
