Scorpion Legal Protection provides legal insurance and assistance to South African members. The contact details below were read from the official Scorpion website on 31 August 2026.
Check the domain before you trust a contact number. Scorpion Legal Protection publishes at scorpion.biz. The similar scorpion.co.za belongs to an unrelated events, travel and driver-training company – its details will not help you with a legal policy.
Official contact channels
- Scorpion Contact Centre: 0861 333 333
- WhatsApp: 011 842 7890
- Call-back: the request form on scorpion.biz
- Branches: a national branch list is published on the Scorpion website
Scorpion publishes one national contact centre number rather than separate sales and claims lines, so say at the outset whether you are an existing member and what the matter concerns.
What this organisation provides
Scorpion provides legal protection cover – membership that gives access to legal advice and representation for matters within the policy. It operates a branch network across South Africa alongside the national contact centre.
Two things decide whether legal cover helps in a given situation, and both are worth establishing before you need it:
- Waiting periods. Legal policies commonly impose a waiting period before cover applies, so a matter that arose before or shortly after you joined may not be covered.
- Pre-existing matters. A dispute that already existed when you took the policy is generally excluded. Report a new matter as soon as it arises rather than after taking your own steps.
Ask for both in writing, along with the cover limits, before relying on the policy. Before contacting Scorpion, have your membership number, identity number, and a short dated summary of the matter with any documents you have received.
Address and operating information
Scorpion publishes a branch list on its website rather than a single customer address on the contact page. Use that list to find the office nearest you if you need to deal with someone in person.
The 0861 prefix is a national share-call number, reachable from anywhere in South Africa and charged at the operator rate rather than as a local call.
Support and escalation routes
Raise the matter with the contact centre on 0861 333 333, follow it in writing, and keep the reference. Where cover has been declined, ask for the decision in writing citing the clause relied on – that wording is what any escalation turns on.
If Scorpion does not resolve it:
- A declined claim or how the policy was administered: National Financial Ombud Scheme, 0860 800 900, [email protected]
- How the policy was sold or advised: FAIS Ombud, 012 762 5000, [email protected]
- The conduct of an attorney acting on your matter: the Legal Practice Council, which regulates legal practitioners
That last distinction matters: a complaint that cover was wrongly refused is an insurance matter, while a complaint about how an attorney handled your case is a professional conduct matter and goes elsewhere.
