OR Tambo Parking Contact Details
Parking at OR Tambo International Airport is run by Airports Company South Africa, which operates the airport itself. There is a dedicated parking telephone line, separate from the general airport helpdesk and separate again from flight information.
Official contact channels
- Parking: 011 921 6090 or 011 921 6091
- Airport helpdesk: 011 921 6262
- Flight information: 086 72 77 888
- Email: customercare@airports.co.za
- Postal address: Private Bag X1, O.R. Tambo International Airport, 1627
Use the right one of those three numbers and you will save yourself a transfer. The parking line deals with the car parks themselves, including access, tickets and payment problems. The helpdesk handles the terminal generally. Flight information is a different service again and cannot help with a vehicle. None of them is the airline, and an airline query has to go to the airline.
What this organisation provides
The airport publishes parking maps for its parkades so that you can identify the right one before you arrive, since the parkades serve different terminals and differ in whether they are covered. Parking is charged by time and is paid before you return to the vehicle or on exit, depending on the facility.
This page does not quote tariffs. Airport parking rates change and are published at the airport and on the airport website, so check the current rate rather than relying on a figure from a directory, including this one.
Address and operating information
The airport is in Kempton Park, east of Johannesburg. The parkades are on the airport precinct and are reached from the terminal roadways rather than from a public street address, which is why the airport publishes a postal address and maps rather than a street address for parking. Allow more time than the drive suggests, because the approach roads back up badly at peak arrival and departure times.
Support and escalation routes
If you lose your parking ticket, deal with it before you get to the boom, because the lost ticket procedure and the charge that goes with it are settled at the payment station or with an attendant rather than at the exit, and a queue behind you makes it worse.
If your vehicle is damaged or broken into, report it before you leave the precinct. Get airport security to attend, obtain a reference, and open a case with the police, because a claim made after you have driven away is very hard to support. Read the notice at the entrance as well: parking operators typically display a notice limiting liability, and while the Consumer Protection Act restricts how far such a notice can go and requires that it be brought to your attention in a way you can reasonably be expected to notice, you are in a much stronger position if you have the security reference and the police case number. Unresolved complaints go to the airport customer care address above.
