If “Tri Ridge” appeared on tracking for something you ordered from overseas, it is not your courier and not the company you bought from. Tri Ridge Freight and Logistics operates a degrouping facility at OR Tambo International Airport, handling imported consignments before they move on for local delivery.
ContactDetails.co.za is an independent directory and is not Tri Ridge.
What a degrouping facility actually does
This explains why the name appears on your tracking and why contacting it will not help you.
- International parcels arrive grouped. Many individual orders travel as one consolidated consignment on one air waybill, because that is far cheaper than shipping each separately.
- A degrouping facility breaks that consignment apart under customs supervision, so each parcel becomes its own trackable item for onward delivery.
- Its customer is the freight forwarder or the retailer, not you. It has no contract with the person who placed the order.
- This is the stage where parcels appear to sit still. A shipment waiting on customs clearance or on degrouping can show no movement for days while nothing is wrong.
Who to contact instead
The seller you bought from owes you the goods, whatever route the parcel took and whoever handled it along the way. That is the party to press.
| Stage | Who |
|---|---|
| 1 | The seller or marketplace, in writing, with the order number |
| 2 | The final delivery courier, with the local tracking number, to trace it |
| 3 | Consumer Goods and Services Ombud, 0860 000 272, free, once the seller’s process is exhausted |
| 4 | Your bank, about a chargeback, if you paid by card |
Our page on whether to contact the courier or the seller sets out who is responsible in more detail.
Customs charges, and the scam that imitates them
Imported goods can attract duties and VAT, and a genuine charge may legitimately hold a parcel until it is paid. That fact is exactly what makes the fake version convincing.
- Never pay through a link in an SMS or email. Go to the courier’s own website, or a number you looked up yourself, and quote your tracking number.
- A real charge is raised by the clearing agent or courier handling your parcel, and it will be traceable against your shipment.
- Be suspicious of small round amounts demanded urgently to “release” a parcel, particularly to a personal account.
- Ask for the customs entry details if you want to verify a charge. A legitimate agent can provide them.
About the company itself
Tri Ridge Freight and Logistics (Pty) Ltd is a South African company registered in 2017, operating in road transport support and freight handling, based in Johannesburg with its degrouping operation at OR Tambo.
It publishes no public customer contact number, which is consistent with a business to business freight operation rather than a consumer service. We do not print one, because there is no official source to verify against.

Frequently asked questions
Why does Tri Ridge appear on my tracking?
Because it handles imported consignments at OR Tambo, breaking grouped shipments apart under customs supervision before onward delivery.
Can I phone them about my parcel?
They publish no public customer number, and their customer is the forwarder or retailer, not you. Contact the seller you bought from.
My parcel has not moved for days. Is it lost?
Usually not. Customs clearance and degrouping are the stages where tracking commonly shows no movement while nothing is wrong.
