Rustenburg Magistrate Court is the main seat for the Bojanala Platinum magisterial district in North West. It is unusual in the number of satellite venues attached to it, so the first thing to establish is whether your matter is actually being heard in Rustenburg itself.

- Marikana is a separate Periodical Court in the same district, on 014 597 9400 or 014 572 8600, at Marikana Road, SAPS Marikana. It handles Family Law Services only, so a criminal or civil matter will not be heard there.
Note that Marikana shares the 014 597 9400 number with the Rustenburg main seat, so that one number covers both and you should say which court you need.

- Maintenance, domestic violence and children’s court matters are walk-in services during working hours.
- Confirm the place of sitting before travelling. With five satellite venues plus a periodical court, the Nelson Mandela Drive address is not necessarily where your matter is heard.
- A complaint about the conduct of a magistrate goes to the Magistrates Commission. A complaint about court administration goes to the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development.
