South Africa has two Middelburg magistrate courts, one in the Eastern Cape and one in Mpumalanga, roughly 800 kilometres apart. The Department of Justice distinguishes them by adding MP after the Mpumalanga one.

Applications and escalation
Only the Eastern Cape court publishes a separate after hours number for domestic violence protection order applications. Court services are free to approach directly, and a complaint about how a court office treated you goes to the Department of Justice rather than to the magistrate, who is judicially independent.
