The court administers others in the district, including the periodical court at Plettenberg Bay and the Knysna sub district. It handles criminal and civil cases, maintenance, domestic violence, childrens court and child justice matters, sexual offences and small claims.

The court is at 130 York Street, George, 6530, with post to Private Bag X6537 at the same code. Its place of sitting is the municipal building at 71 York Street, also in George, so both venues are on York Street but at different numbers.

Two York Street addresses for the same court is an easy mistake to make. Confirm whether a matter is set down at 130 or at the municipal building at 71 before travelling.
