Services and responsibilities
The five places of sitting are Boitekong, Kanana, Lethabong, Tlhabane and the Rustenburg Municipal Court. Tlhabane is not only a sitting venue but a detached court in its own right, listed separately by the department under the further names Bafokeng and Phokeng, which is why it has a different telephone number.
Office and address information
The main court is at 13 Nelson Mandela Drive, Rustenburg 0300, with post to Private Bag X82065 at the same code. Tlhabane sits at 3582 Motsatsi Street, Tlhabane 0309, but its post goes to Private Bag X82317, Rustenburg 0300, so the two courts share a postal town while having different street addresses.
Applications and escalation
The main court is an equality court and a small claims court, and handles child justice, children’s court, civil, criminal, domestic violence, maintenance and sexual offences matters. If your notice names Boitekong, Kanana, Lethabong or the municipal court, use the main Rustenburg number; only a Tlhabane, Bafokeng or Phokeng reference points to the 014 565 line.
