Debt Eraser is a South African debt platform that has not launched. Its website, debteraser.org, has shown a single “Coming soon!” holding page carrying a 2024 copyright notice, and it publishes no telephone number. More importantly, checks against both National Credit Regulator registers on 4 September 2026 returned Not Registered with NCR. That matters more than the missing phone number, and this page explains why.

Official contact channels

  • Website: debteraser.org – a holding page only, with a mailing-list sign-up and the line “South Africa’s very first debt eraser platform”.
  • Email: info@debteraser.org – the only contact route the site publishes.
  • Telephone: none published. There is no switchboard, mobile number or WhatsApp line anywhere on the site.

The holding page also carries a mailbox belonging to an unrelated business, left behind in the website template it was built from. Treat any address on that page other than the debteraser.org one as not belonging to this company.

What this organisation provides

At the time of checking, nothing that can be bought or applied for. The site advertises a future service under the slogan “Top Up and Pay Down” and invites visitors to sign up for news and updates. There is no application form, no fee schedule and no named service.

Two register checks were run against the National Credit Regulator on 4 September 2026, with a known-good search used first to confirm the register was returning results correctly:

  • Debt counsellor register (1 824 registered debt counsellors): no match for Eraser or Debt Eraser. Result returned: Not Registered with NCR.
  • Credit provider register (10 227 registered credit providers): no match. Result returned: Not Registered with NCR.

Under the National Credit Act, debt counselling may only be offered by a debt counsellor registered with the NCR, and lending money in the course of business requires registration as a credit provider. An unregistered business may not lawfully perform either. No business of any kind can “erase” a debt that you legally owe; what a registered debt counsellor can do is apply to have your repayments restructured through a court or tribunal order.

Address and operating information

No physical address, postal address, registration number or office hours are published on the website, and no address appears on either NCR register because there is no registration to attach one to. There is therefore no verified place of business for this brand.

Support and escalation routes

If you are looking for debt help, use the routes below rather than an unregistered brand. All were read from the regulator’s own site and its published contact circular.

  • Check any debt counsellor yourself at ncr.org.za before paying anyone. The register is public and searchable by name, trading name, registration number or town, and returns a plain “Not Registered with NCR” when there is no match.
  • National Credit Regulator call centre: 0860 627 627, reception 011 554 2700, complaints complaints@ncr.org.za and general enquiries info@ncr.org.za.
  • A complaint to the NCR is lodged on Form 29. The NCR acknowledges receipt and allocates a reference number, and asks that you allow 40 business days before following up.
  • National Financial Ombud: 0860 800 900 for disputes with banks, credit providers and insurers.
  • If money has already been paid to an unregistered operator, report it to the NCR and to the South African Police Service, since taking a fee for a regulated service without registration is an offence rather than a service complaint.
