ASUS runs its South African site at asus.com/za, and it splits contact into two quite different things: buying, which has a published number and mailbox, and technical support, which does not have a single number at all.
ASUS South Africa purchase enquiries
- Telephone: 087 350 0060
- Email: [email protected]
- ASUS Store returns: 7 calendar days to return a product you are not satisfied with
- Free shipping on ASUS Store orders over R2 500
Note that the published sales mailbox sits on a dg.co.za domain rather than an asus.com one. That is not a red flag; it reflects that the South African store and sales function are run through a local distribution partner. It does mean you should copy the address exactly rather than assuming an @asus.com equivalent exists.
Technical support has no single number
The Call Us page on the ASUS South Africa site asks you to pick a product type first, and only then shows the relevant contact route. So there is no one number to write down for ASUS support. Work through the support pages instead, where the routes are:
- The Call Us page, after selecting your product type
- The Email Us question form, for a written case with a reference
- Check Repair Status, for a unit already booked in
- Find Service Locations, for the authorised repair centres
- The Virtual Assistant and Download Center for drivers, BIOS files and manuals
The MyASUS application on Windows or on a phone is the fastest route for a laptop or desktop problem, because it runs diagnostics and opens a case with your device details already attached.
Have this ready before you contact them
ASUS support is organised around the model name and the serial number, and its own site carries guides on how to find each. Nothing moves without them. For a warranty question, have the purchase invoice too, because the warranty period runs from the date of purchase rather than the date of manufacture.
Warranty in South Africa
An ASUS warranty is a manufacturer warranty and sits alongside, not instead of, your rights against the retailer. Under the Consumer Protection Act you have six months from delivery to return goods that are defective, unsafe or not fit for their intended purpose, and the choice of a repair, replacement or refund is yours rather than the retailer. Deal with the shop for that, and with ASUS for the manufacturer warranty and for anything beyond the six months.
ASUS also offers a paid warranty upgrade and an international warranty on some products. Both are worth checking before you pay for a repair on a unit you believe is out of cover.
Buying safely
Use the authorised dealers listing and the Where To Buy page on the ASUS site before buying from an unfamiliar seller. Grey imports and units bought from an unauthorised seller can fall outside local warranty support entirely, which is discovered at the worst possible moment.
