The 010 288 1892 number is published with a WhatsApp link rather than as a voice line, and the site’s own company data labels it “WhatsApp support”. Debt Rescue does not publish office hours on its contact page, and it lists no separate line for existing clients, so existing clients and new enquiries use the same channels.

What this organisation provides

Debt Rescue (Pty) Ltd is a debt counselling company. It assesses whether a consumer is over-indebted, applies for debt review under the National Credit Act, negotiates reduced instalments with creditors and then manages a single monthly payment. Its founder and chief executive is Neil Roets. The site says the company is a member of the Debt Counsellors Association of South Africa (DCASA).

The first step is a free assessment. According to Debt Rescue, a registered debt counsellor reviews your credit report, income and expenses to decide whether you qualify, and if you go ahead the counsellor starts the debt review application. Debt Rescue says the whole process can be done remotely by phone, email or WhatsApp, so you do not have to visit an office.

On costs, Debt Rescue’s FAQ lists the fees it says the NCR allows registered debt counsellors to charge: a once-off application fee of R350, a restructuring fee equal to the first month’s instalment (capped at R8,000 for one person or R9,000 for a joint application), and a monthly after-care fee of 5% of the restructured instalment, capped at R450. All amounts exclude VAT, and Debt Rescue says the fees are built into the monthly repayment rather than paid separately.

Debt Rescue’s own pages do not agree on every office. Its FAQ on in-person consultations also lists a Pretoria office at 22 Hibiscus Street, Lynwood Ridge, gives the Sandton office as Suite 30 and the Umhlanga office as Suite M3, and does not mention Kempton Park. Book first on info@debtrescue.co.za and confirm the address before you travel.

The National Credit Regulator’s register of debt counsellors lists Neil Frans Roets, trading as Debt Rescue, as registered under number NCRDC474, with a physical address at 85 Friedman Road, Kempton Park. Debt Rescue quotes the same number, 474, on its website. Any counsellor who handles your file should be able to give you their own NCR registration number.
