Aliexpress South Africa Contact Details
AliExpress has no South African office or customer care phone number in its own legal documents. Customer service is reached online through the AliExpress customer service centre, which its Terms of Use link to. For a formal dispute, the updated Terms name AE_customerservice@aliexpress.com, and privacy requests go to DataProtection.AE@aliexpress.com. We read the AliExpress Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, published on Alibaba’s terms.alicdn.com site, on 16 September 2026.
ContactDetails.co.za is an independent directory. We are not AliExpress or any seller on it, and we cannot track an order, open a dispute or issue a refund.
Official contact channels
| What it is for | Contact |
|---|---|
| Orders, deliveries, refunds and general help | AliExpress customer service centre, customerservice.aliexpress.com (linked from the Terms of Use as its “customer service support line”) |
| Formal notice of dispute (Terms effective 26 September 2026) | AE_customerservice@aliexpress.com |
| Personal information and privacy rights | DataProtection.AE@aliexpress.com (Data Protection Officer); rights can also be exercised after logging in |
| Legal notices by courier or certified mail | Attn: Legal Department, AliExpress, 25/F Tower One, Times Square, 1 Matheson Street, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong |
We could not load the customer service centre itself: aliexpress.com showed an automated bot check, which we do not bypass. We therefore cannot say which chat or message options it currently offers. Because AliExpress’s own documents list no telephone number for shoppers, be cautious of any number advertised as “AliExpress South Africa customer care”, and never share card details or one-time PINs with such a caller.
What this organisation provides
AliExpress is an online marketplace where independent sellers list products for buyers around the world. Its Terms of Use cover www.aliexpress.com, its mobile sites and apps. Many problems, such as a wrong item or a late parcel, involve the seller as well as the platform. The Privacy Policy notes that sellers act as separate data controllers for your purchase information.
South African shoppers do not deal with a local company. Under clause 2.1 of the Terms, users outside mainland China, the United States, South Korea and a list of mainly former Soviet countries contract with Alibaba.com Singapore E-Commerce Private Limited, company registration number 200720572D. The Privacy Policy gives that company’s address as 51 Bras Basah Road, #01-21 Lazada One, Singapore 189554, and says it is also the controller of your personal information.
Address and operating information
AliExpress publishes no South African street address, walk-in office or opening hours. The two addresses in its documents serve different purposes: Singapore for the contracting company and data controller, and Hong Kong for written legal notices to the Legal Department. Neither is a customer service desk.
The Terms of Use are governed by Hong Kong law for users contracting with the Singapore company. The version effective from 26 September 2026 was updated on 26 August 2026. It includes a clause stating that nothing in its dispute sections limits consumer protection rights that the law of the country where you normally live does not allow to be waived.
Support and escalation routes
- Start with the seller and the AliExpress customer service centre, keeping your order number and screenshots.
- If that fails, the updated Terms require a written notice of dispute to AE_customerservice@aliexpress.com before arbitration. It must include your full name, contact details and AliExpress account identifier, a description of the dispute with order numbers or transaction dates, the relief and amount you want, and a completed personal declaration. An incomplete notice does not count.
- AliExpress says it will acknowledge a complete notice within 14 calendar days and then negotiate for 60 days. If that fails, it issues a notice of completion, after which either side may go to arbitration at the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre. The Terms also allow an individual claim in a small claims court that has jurisdiction.
- In South Africa, the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud can be reached on 0860 000 272, WhatsApp 081 335 3005 or info@cgso.org.za. Ask it first whether it can help with a platform whose contracting company is based outside South Africa.
