Veterinary services. There is no separate animal disease hotline. Eligibility, account or policy requirements
Farmer support programmes, drought relief and mechanisation help are applied for through your district or local office, not through head office. When you call, have your ID, the location of your land, the type of farming you do and any previous reference numbers ready, and ask for the extension officer who covers your area.
The department also offers soil analysis for farmers and runs six research stations, at Cedara, Kokstad, Makhathini, Dundee, Owen Sitole College and Barthlow Combine. Makhathini is on 035 572 5303 and Dundee on 034 212 2479.
