Capitec debt review email address

Capitec’s 2025 debt review toolkit gives one channel for clients who are under debt review with the bank: for any questions related to your debt review with Capitec, email ccsdebtreviewqueries@capitecbank.co.za. Capitec does not publish a separate phone number for debt review queries in that toolkit.

For general banking, Capitec’s debt relief flyer lists the Client Care Centre on 0860 10 20 43 and WhatsApp on 067 418 9565.

Debt rescheduling before debt review, and how debt review works

Capitec says that if you are struggling to repay, you should speak to your bank first, before debt review. Its alternative is debt rescheduling: Capitec extends the term of your loan or access facility to lower the repayments. The interest rate stays the same, but the total cost of credit rises because you pay for longer.

To ask about rescheduling, visit a branch, call 0860 66 77 18 or email CentralisedCollections@capitecbank.co.za. The 2023 flyer gives the line’s hours as Monday to Friday 8am to 7pm and Saturday 8am to 1pm.

If debt review is your only option, Capitec’s toolkit explains how it works:

  • Choose a registered debt counsellor. Capitec points to the NCR website to check that a counsellor is registered.
  • Sign Form 16. From that point you are officially under debt review.
  • The counsellor sends Form 17.1 to your credit providers and all credit bureaus, assesses whether you are over-indebted, negotiates with creditors and applies to court.
  • You pay one monthly instalment to a Payment Distribution Agency (PDA), which distributes it to your creditors.
  • For questions about your debt review with Capitec, email ccsdebtreviewqueries@capitecbank.co.za.

What debt review costs, and how you leave it

Debt review has costs. Capitec’s toolkit gives an example of first-year debt review fees of up to R15 795, made up of items such as a restructuring fee of R8 000, a monthly aftercare fee of R450 and an NCT fee of R500.

Debt review is also hard to leave. Capitec’s toolkit says you can only exit it by paying your debts in full, or by a court declaring that you are no longer over-indebted. Rescheduling applies to Capitec loans and access facilities.

When a debt review query stalls

Capitec does not publish a separate escalation line for debt review in its toolkit or flyer. Use ccsdebtreviewqueries@capitecbank.co.za for debt review questions, and keep a record of your emails and your debt counsellor’s details. Capitec Bank Limited (registration number 1980/003695/06) is an authorised financial services provider, FSP 46669, and a registered credit provider, NCRCP13.

For other banks and lenders, browse the banking and finance hub or the banking directory C listings.
