What Hirsch’s provides
Allan Hirsch, originally an appliance repairman, started the business in 1979 with his wife Margaret and R900 in savings. The first showroom was on Umhlanga Rocks Drive in Durban. Hirsch’s about page now states 19 branches and concept stores across South Africa.
Besides its own stores, Hirsch’s runs Samsung Stores at Ballito Junction, Gateway, Pavilion, Sandton, Mall of Africa and Cavendish, and a Hisense Store at Canal Walk. Online, the site offers a gift registry, order tracking, service-call booking and aircon specialist booking.
