Hirsch Homestore sells appliances, electronics and home goods through a chain of stores and an online shop. Its online operation is contactable separately from the stores, and the service centres are separate again, split by province. Sending a query to the wrong one of the three is the usual delay.
Online enquiries

- Address on the site: 1211 Umgeni Road, KwaZulu-Natal

Service centres
- KwaZulu-Natal service centre: 031 582 4800
- Johannesburg service centre: 010 001 3599
The service centres handle repairs and warranty work, which is a different process from a delivery or order query. If an appliance you bought is faulty, the service centre for your province is the right first call, not the online enquiry line.
Buying a large appliance online
Delivery is where most complaints on this kind of purchase start, so settle it before you pay. Confirm the delivery lead time in writing, whether delivery includes carrying the item into the house and up stairs, and whether installation, connection or removal of the old appliance is included or charged. For anything gas or plumbed, ask who does the connection and whether a certificate of compliance is issued, because an uncertified installation can void both the warranty and your household insurance.
Your rights on a faulty appliance
- The Consumer Protection Act gives you six months to return goods that are defective, and the choice of repair, replacement or refund is yours rather than the retailer
- A repair carries a three-month warranty on that repair; if the same fault recurs in that window you may demand a replacement or refund
- A cooling-off right applies to goods bought at a distance, allowing cancellation within seven business days of delivery
- Keep the invoice and the delivery note; a warranty claim is settled against the purchase date on them
If it is not resolved
- Escalate in writing to [email protected] with the order number and dates, and ask for a reference
- For a repair dispute, deal with the service centre for your province directly rather than through the online line
- For an unresolved consumer complaint, the National Consumer Commission handles complaints against suppliers
