Location and operating information
There are two ticket offices, and City Sightseeing recommends these main terminals for ticketing and information:
- V&A Waterfront: outside the Aquarium.
- Long Street: 81 Long Street, Cape Town.
The hop-on hop-off service runs every day of the year, except during certain major events such as the Cape Town Cycle Tour. How often buses come varies by season and time of day. A live bus tracker is on the website, or you can scan the QR code at the stops.
Services at this location
The Cape Town tour has over 30 stops, including Table Mountain, Camps Bay, Kirstenbosch and the V&A Waterfront. There are three routes, and every ticket covers all of them. All the buses are red.
- Red City Tour: about 90 minutes.
- Blue Mini Peninsula Tour: about 140 minutes.
- Purple Wine Tour: about 30 minutes.
Ticket types are Classic (1 day), Premium (2 consecutive days, with the Sunset bus tour and a cruise) and Deluxe (3 consecutive days, with the Sunset tour and 2 cruises). Tickets are valid by calendar day, not for 24 hours. Buying online is cheapest; you can also buy at the Waterfront and 81 Long Street offices, or on board from the driver, where card is preferred.
Children aged 0 to 3 ride free, and ages 4 to 17 pay the child rate. Online vouchers are valid for 14 days from the travel date. Refunds need at least 24 hours’ notice and carry an R20 fee. On board, audio commentary is available in 15 languages plus a kids’ channel, and headphones are free.
