Bolt Cape Town Contact Details
Bolt keeps one physical office in Cape Town, at 0A Odin Drive, Thornton, Goodwood. It is a Driver Engagement Centre, so it serves drivers and fleet partners rather than passengers, and you cannot simply walk in.
Local channels
- Driver Engagement Centre, Cape Town: 0A Odin Drive, Thornton, Goodwood
- Entry is by appointment only, booked through the Bolt driver guide
- Bolt publishes no telephone number for South Africa, for drivers or riders
- No customer service email address is published either
- Everything else runs through the in-app help section and the online support portal
There are only two of these centres in the whole country, this one and the Johannesburg centre in Randburg. Nothing exists in Durban, Gqeberha, Bloemfontein or the smaller cities, so do not travel expecting a local Bolt office.
Address
- 0A Odin Drive, Thornton, Goodwood, Cape Town
- Thornton sits in the northern suburbs between Goodwood and Pinelands
- This is the only Bolt centre in the Western Cape
- The Johannesburg centre is at 29 Bond Street, Ferndale, Randburg
- Riders have no walk-in option at either address
Passengers who arrive here will be turned away, and that is not obstruction: rider issues are handled only in the app, attached to the specific trip. Reporting a problem against the trip record rather than as a general message is what gets it investigated.
Services at this location
- New driver and fleet registrations
- Blocked or restricted driver accounts
- Linking or adding a vehicle to an account
- Updating personal details and banking information
- Onboarding help for using the driver app
The document lists differ by appointment type. To update personal details Bolt asks for a PrDP for identity verification and a proof of banking letter or bank statement; to link a car it asks for a cARscan inspection including the licence disc. Booking the wrong appointment type is the usual reason a trip is wasted.
Parent organisation
- Bolt operates internationally as a ride-hailing and delivery platform
- Drivers are independent partners rather than employees of Bolt
- Carrying passengers for reward requires a professional driving permit, issued by your licensing authority
- E-hailing vehicles require an operating licence from the provincial regulatory entity, in the Western Cape through the provincial transport department
- Service complaints can be taken to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud on 0860 000 272
- Safety incidents should be reported to the South African Police Service as well as through the app
Operating licence enforcement has been a live issue for e-hailing drivers in Cape Town, with impoundments where a vehicle is working without one. That licence comes from the province, not from Bolt, and the centre cannot resolve an impoundment on your behalf.
