Bus Cuisine Cape Town Contact Details
Bus Cuisine is a Cape Town dining experience run aboard a converted double-decker bus, departing from the Foreshore. Before anything else, note that the business publishes a scam warning of its own, because people are impersonating it.
Official contact channels
- Telephone: 0861 2273 8696, which the company states is its only official number
- Email: info@buscuisine.co.za
- Departure point: Protea Hotel Marriott, North Wharf, 1 Bree Street, Foreshore, Cape Town
- Bookings: through the Bus Cuisine website or the DinePlan reservation system
- The company states these are the only payment routes it uses
The company warns that it will never ask you to pay directly into a bank account. If someone quoting the Bus Cuisine name sends you banking details for an electronic transfer, that is the impersonation it is warning about, and no booking exists behind it.
Note that the published number carries more digits than a standard South African 0861 share-call number. It is printed that way consistently on the company site and in its own scam notice, so use it as printed; if it does not connect from your network, book through the website or email instead.
What this organisation provides
- A set-menu dining experience served while the bus travels a city route
- Seating on two decks, with upstairs and window seats in demand
- A drinks service on board
- Catering for food allergies on request when booking
- Toilets on board, and published guidance on accessibility for reduced mobility
Declare allergies at the time of booking rather than on the night. A moving kitchen on a bus has limited scope to improvise, and a set menu prepared in advance cannot easily be changed once you are aboard.
Address and operating information
- Departures from the Foreshore in central Cape Town, at the Protea Hotel Marriott on North Wharf
- Each sitting runs for a defined length of time, published in the company questions
- Tables may be shared with other guests unless booked otherwise
- Children are addressed separately in the published conditions
- Smoking is covered by its own published rule
Arrive early. This is a departure rather than a restaurant booking, and a bus that has left cannot seat you; a late arrival is treated as a missed sitting rather than a delayed table.
Support and escalation routes
- Bookings, changes and cancellations: the website or DinePlan, or info@buscuisine.co.za
- Pay only through the website or DinePlan; never by direct bank transfer
- If you have paid a scammer, tell your bank immediately and report it to the South African Police Service
- Consumer complaints about a service booking go to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud on 0860 000 272
- Food safety and hygiene on a mobile food premises is enforced by City of Cape Town environmental health
- The vehicle itself must meet roadworthy and public passenger requirements under the National Land Transport Act
Keep the booking confirmation from the official system. In an impersonation scam the absence of a confirmation from the real reservation platform is usually the first hard evidence that the payment never reached the business.
