City to City is a South African intercity bus service operated by Autopax Passenger Services, a subsidiary of the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA). The contact details below were read from the PRASA contact page on 31 August 2026.

Official contact channels

The contact form is the specific route. PRASA’s form carries a division selector that lists City-to-City / Translux alongside Autopax, Metrorail, Shosholoza Meyl and Premier Classe. Choosing that division is what routes a bus query to the right team – the general switchboard does not.

The standalone citytocity.co.za and autopax.co.za sites do not respond. PRASA is the reachable official source, which is why a City to City number found on a directory or advert cannot be checked against the operator’s own site – and should not be trusted.

What this organisation provides

City to City runs long-distance intercity coach services. Autopax operates both the City to City and Translux brands, which is why the two are handled together in PRASA’s own division list rather than separately.

PRASA’s wider passenger operations include Metrorail commuter rail, Shosholoza Meyl long-distance rail and Premier Classe. A bus query sent to a rail division is a common misroute, and the division selector exists precisely to avoid it.

Because tickets are bought at terminals and through booking channels rather than centrally, your ticket office or booking channel holds the transaction record. For a refund or a ticket change, that is the faster first step; PRASA is the escalation behind it.

Address and operating information

Physical address: 30 Wolmarans Street, Hillbrow, Johannesburg, 2017.
Postal address: Private Bag X101, Braamfontein, 2017.

PRASA does not publish switchboard operating hours. The Johannesburg address is a corporate head office, not a bus terminal or ticket office – departures and ticket sales happen at terminals, which keep their own hours tied to departure times.

Note that the two published numbers sit in different cities: 011 is Johannesburg and the 012 uMjantshi reception is in Pretoria.

Support and escalation routes

Start where you bought the ticket, with the booking reference, travel date and route. Then use the PRASA contact form under the City-to-City / Translux division, or the switchboard, keeping any reference you are given.

PRASA runs an independently operated whistle-blowing line for fraud and unethical conduct:

Never pay a ticket or refund fee into a personal bank account, and never share an OTP, card PIN or banking password with someone claiming to handle a bus booking. Fake transport numbers are a known fraud route, made easier here by the operator’s own site being offline.

An unresolved consumer complaint can go to the National Consumer Commission, and maladministration by a state entity to the Public Protector.
