Intercape Contact Details
The Intercape contact number is 021 380 4400, or +27 21 380 4400 from outside South Africa. It is a 24-hour call centre, and every South African Intercape office uses it, including Johannesburg, Durban, Bloemfontein and Port Elizabeth. The only email address Intercape publishes is info@intercape.co.za, and the intercape.co.za website also offers WhatsApp and a call-me-back option.

Intercape has no office in Greenacres. Its nearest offices in Gqeberha are the three above. Perridgevale is the closest of the three to Greenacres, a few minutes away. The Flemming Street office is the one that also handles parcels, which the other two do not.
Intercape warns against numbers found on Google
This is Intercape’s own notice, printed on its contact page and again on its office listings, and it is unusually direct. In its words: “Only use the phone numbers on the website to contact us. Do not use numbers from Google.”
A long-distance bus operator is an obvious target for impersonation. Someone who believes they are calling to book or to change a ticket, and who is asked to transfer money, has every reason to think it is routine.
So treat any Intercape number that did not come from intercape.co.za as unverified, including one shown in a search result panel. The single number Intercape publishes is 021 380 4400. That also means a “Greenacres branch number” is doubly suspect: there is no Greenacres branch, and no South African branch has its own number in any case.
One number for the entire network
Intercape lists offices across nine South African regions and in Botswana, Mozambique and Namibia. Every South African office publishes 021 380 4400, and so do the Maputo and Matola offices in Mozambique. Not one South African sales office has a direct line, a local number or its own email address. The exceptions are outside South Africa: the Gaborone office lists +267 397 4294, and the Namibian offices in Windhoek, Oshakati, Rundu and Katima Mulilo all list +264 82410 1000.
The call centre is open 24 hours, which is appropriate for a business whose buses run through the night. Intercape also offers WhatsApp and a call-me-back option on its website. The only email address Intercape publishes is info@intercape.co.za.

The Johannesburg office is at Park Station, so “Intercape bus station Johannesburg” and “Intercape office Johannesburg” are the same place. Durban has two offices, one at Durban Station and one on the beachfront. None of these offices has a separate phone number: to reach the Johannesburg, Durban or Bloemfontein office, call 021 380 4400.

Parcels are handled at only four of these: East London, King William’s Town, the Flemming Street office in Gqeberha and Queenstown. If you are sending a parcel rather than travelling, those are the four to use, and it is worth confirming parcel handling with the call centre on 021 380 4400 before you set off.
Note that several offices are inside stations or filling stations rather than being standalone Intercape premises.
Where the Intercape head office is
Intercape’s office address is the corner of Staal and Research Roads, Pretoria West. It is not a passenger service point. Bookings, changes and complaints go through the call centre or the website form, which Intercape says it aims to answer within 24 hours.
What to have ready when you contact Intercape
Have your booking reference to hand for any call. It is what the call centre works from.
Confirm the departure point when you book. Gqeberha has three Intercape locations and they are not interchangeable, so a ticket bought for one is not a ticket to board at another.
If anyone asks you to pay for a ticket into a personal account, stop and phone 021 380 4400 to check. That is precisely the situation Intercape’s own warning is about.
How to book and pay for Intercape bus tickets
Book online at intercape.co.za, through the call centre on 021 380 4400 (+27 21 380 4400 from abroad) or at a sales office. At an office, and at Shoprite or Checkers Money Market counters, you can pay by cash, debit card or credit card. Call centre bookings can be paid by EFT, credit card or bank deposit, or you can pick up the ticket at PEP or Shoprite and Checkers.
Intercape complaints
Intercape asks you to speak to the office supervisor on arrival, or to call 021 380 4400. A case is logged and the relevant department contacts you.
Intercape wifi and on-board entertainment
Intercape offers on-screen entertainment and an on-board Video on Demand service. The Video on Demand service needs wifi, a smart device and earphones.
Intercape bus ticket refund and cancellation rules
Intercape sells three ticket classes, and the refund rules depend on which one you bought.

No ticket can be changed or refunded within 15 minutes of departure or after the bus has left. An unused ticket then carries a 100% cancellation fee. To cancel or change a ticket, call 021 380 4400.
