Bolt Driver Contact Details
Bolt drivers in South Africa get support in the Bolt Driver app, on Bolt’s driver support portal, or in person by appointment at a Driver Engagement Centre: 29 Bond Street, Ferndale, Randburg in Johannesburg, or 0A Odin Drive, Thornton, Goodwood in Cape Town. Bolt does not publish a driver phone line on its South African pages. Bolt (Bolt Technology OÜ) is the ride-hailing platform that drivers partner with through the Bolt Driver app.
This page covers driver-partner channels only: sign-up, the documents to bring to an appointment, commission and payouts. For rider support and Bolt’s general contacts, see the transport and logistics hub.

Official contact channels
Bolt’s driver support in South Africa runs through three channels:
- Driver support portal: the South African driver support category on bolt.eu lists help articles by topic, and support is also available in the Bolt Driver app.
- South Africa Driver Guide: bolt.eu/en-za/driver/guide/ explains requirements, commission and the engagement centres.
- Driver Engagement Centres: in Johannesburg and Cape Town, by appointment only. Book the Johannesburg centre at boltjhb.qminder.site.
The engagement centres help with new driver or fleet registrations, blocked accounts and other account issues, adding a new vehicle, updating personal or banking details, and app onboarding. You will only be helped with an appointment, and if you arrive late you forfeit your slot.
What Bolt provides drivers
To sign up as a Bolt driver, register online at bolt.eu/en-za/driver/, submit the required documents and verify your identity. Bolt’s requirements are:

- A smartphone running at least Android 9.0 or iOS 16
- A valid PrDP and a criminal record check
- A clear profile photo
- A cARscan vehicle inspection report
Vehicle owners must also apply for an operating licence under the new e-hailing laws.
Bolt takes 24% commission in South Africa, made up of a 21% service fee plus 3% VAT. Tips, bonuses, tolls and the rider’s 5% booking fee are commission-free. The payment cycle runs from Monday 00:00 to Sunday 23:59, with weekly payouts after a balance statement.
Address and operating information
Bolt’s two South African Driver Engagement Centres are at 29 Bond Street, Ferndale, Randburg (Johannesburg) and 0A Odin Drive, Thornton, Goodwood (Cape Town). Bolt does not publish walk-in hours, because help is by appointment only.
Bring the documents for your appointment type:
- New registration with a car: a Huru criminal record check, your driver’s licence with PrDP, a driver photo, and a cARscan vehicle inspection with a valid licence disk.
- Updating personal or banking details: your PrDP for ID verification and a proof-of-banking letter or bank statement.
Support and escalation routes
- Check the driver support portal or the Driver Guide for your topic first.
- For account, vehicle or onboarding problems, book a Driver Engagement Centre appointment and arrive on time.
- Bring the documents for your appointment type, for example your PrDP plus proof of banking to update banking details.
If you pay commission to Bolt by EFT, allow up to 72 hours for it to show in your balance. EFTs are not processed on weekends or public holidays. Use the reference number from the footer of your monthly invoice, not your referral code. Bolt does not publish a separate driver escalation line beyond the portal and the engagement centres.
For other transport companies, browse the transport directory A to B listings.
